IN PURSUIT OF SILVER

“Our goal is to receive the Silver Award for the Seal of Good Housekeeping this year”, Mayor Melan De Sagun stated during the evaluation period conducted by the Provincial DILG. “Not only will the award boost the morale of our employees but it is the concrete evidence of our continued pursuit for good governance in our city.

Since the city has qualified as a Seal of Goodhousekeeping (SGH) recepient in 2011, our assessment for 2012 is based on the SGH Silver level. According to Mr. Leo C. Data, the City’s Local Government Operations Officer, the Silver level is scaled-up from accountable governance (no adverse COA findings) and Transparent Governance (Full Disclosure Documents, Procurement Documents and Online posting of documents)  to include the Fronline Service Performance in the following offices: City Health Office and the Local Civil Registrar.

Last March 26, 2013 representatives from the Provincial Office of the DILG headed by Mr. Eleuterio Sierra conducted the ARTA RCS Exit Conference for Frontline Service to the concerned departments particularly: City Treasurer’s Office, City Health Office, City Mayor’s Office and its attached divisions (Business Permits and Licenses, City Tourism and Information Office) and Local Civil Registrar.  The DILG team reported on the client survey conducted last year at various offices offering frontline services  and the results were encouraging.

Also present during the Exit Conference as observers were the various Operations Officers of the DILG stationed in different municipalities of the province namely: Ms. Charmaine R. Lopez (GMA), Jerome M. Lingan (Amadeo), Rebecca M. Data (Carmona/Silang) and Nenita N. Costelo (OIC - DasmaƱas), Divina Amor T. De Pano (GMA) and Ms. Maria Milagros B. Anarna (Silang).

Various issues and observations regarding the front line services were discussed and the recommendation made by the participants of the exit conference were carefully noted fro execution. Mrs. Marina Castillo asserted the commitment of the city through the able leadership of Mayor Melan De Sagun that our Local Government will continue to strive to attain the standards of good governance set forth by the DILG. In all, Trece Martires City has a strong chance of bagging the Silver Award for 2012.
