TYPHOON MARING

“Sa hagupit ng masamang panahon sa ating bansa ngayong buwan ng Agosto, ating ipagpasalamat sa Panginoon ang pananatiling ligtas ng buong siyudad sa kalamidad”- stated Mayor Melan after the Habagat has passed the lowlands of the Province of Cavite with devastating effect. Thankfully, our beloved city's elevation spared the residents from dealing with flooding that the residents of Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta, Rosario, Cavite City and Tanza experienced.
Kudos is also extended to the early suspension of classes by Governor Jonvic Remulla who declared three days of no classes for all levels on August 19, 20 and  21, 2013. Our very own CDRRMO was not taking it easy and took all necessary precaution to  ensure zero-casualty during Typhoon Maring. The team tirelessly went around the barangays that have communities near the river to check settlers living near our   rivers. The City Disaster Coordinating Council was preparing for possible evacuation and made provisions for relief goods for the affected families.

CDRRMO Team rescued families where 5 houses were washed out
and 72 houses were damaged by the flood at riverside Brgy.  Gregorio.
