2013 NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION

The Local Government of Trece Martires kicked off this year's nutrition month celebration with the participation of public elementary and high school students. Various private schools in the city also celebrated their nutrition day with emphasis on eating nutritious food for a healthier body.
The culminating activity and awarding ceremony was held at the City Hall Building last Monday July 29, 2013. The first part of the program was the Nutribooth  Competition, Cookfest and the   Poster and Slogan Making Contest for the Elementary and High School Level. The driveway of the City Hall Building was decorated with booths from the 13 barangays of the city showcasing their         agricultural products.
The second part of the program started with a prayer led by Ms. Jessie Romano, President of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) followed by the National Anthem conducted by    Mrs. Rose L. Ortiz, President of the Parish Pastoral Council.  Councilor Angelito M. Villanueva, SB For Nutrition & Health opened the program followed by the Welcome Remarks from Vice Mayor Alexander C.    Lubigan.
Selected teachers from the Trece Martires City Elementary School performed a special number for the assembly after which the awards were given for the Outsanding BNS. The winners Mrs. Cita V. Nueva the BNS of Brgy. Aguado and Chairman Manolito S. Villanueva of Brgy. Hugo  Perez gave their acceptance speech after receiving their plaque and prizes from Mayor Melandres G. De Sagun and Vice Mayor Alexander C.   Lubigan.
Mayor Melan gave his inspirational message and reiterated the importance of good       nutrition for every Treceno. After his speech the City Mayor and the Vice Mayor proceeded with the awarding of cash prizes for the winners of the Slogan and Poster Making Contest for the elementary and high school division, the booth competition and the cook fest.
Selected teachers from Trece      Martires City National High School     performed a dance number and      Chairman Amado Q. Masicap the Vice Chairman of the City Nutrition          Committee gave the closing remarks. The program was hosted byMr. Josefino Vasquez and   Mr. Jovir Bragais.

BARANGAY TRAINING FOR  NUTRITION

     The City Government of Trece Martires recently conducted a  Training for the Promotion of Good Nutrition (PGN) from April 22-26, 2013 at the Session Hall of the City Hall Building.
     The PGN was part of the city’s projects to promote the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN): the   country's response to malnutrition, an integral component of the      Philippine Development Plan for 2010-2016.  Nutrition is incorporated in our mandate to achieve the Millenium      Development Goal (MDG) Number 1 (Eradicate    Extreme Poverty and Hunger)  and Number 5  (Improve Maternal Health).
     Nutrition programs are multi-sectoral in approach and the impact of a good nutrition program directly affects the     residents of our city that’s why mother leaders are included in the PGN.

The PGN was attended by the 16 Barangay Health Workers (BHW), 13 Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) and 3 Mother Leaders ( Neileen Romano from Brgy. Cabuco, Deborah Villamor from Brgy. Aguado and Mary Anne   Hernandez from Brgy. Hugo Perez).
The five-day seminar covered topics on breastfeeding and nutrition. The attendees are divided into 5 groups and each group are designated to lead the seminar each day for     icebreakers and open dialogue.
A mini-graduation was held during the last day of      training and the participants received their Certificate of Completion. The graduation was lead by the Mr. Dario De Pano in behalf of Captain Amado Q. Masicap the ABC   President and Ms. Marina Castillo, the City Administrator, as the representative of Mayor Melandres G. De Sagun (City Nutrition Council Chairman).


Eat a variety of foods everyday to get the nutrients needed by the body.

VALENTINE'S DAY IN THE CITY


          In celebration of Valentine's Day, Mayor Melan and Mayora Aiza gave away banana cakes to all female employees of the Local Government. This year the sumptous banana cakes made all 220 regular female of the City smile.

          The banana break is the personal recipe of Mayora Aiza and freshly baked on Valentine's Day itself. A fitting snack for Valentine's Day.

BUSINESS ONE STOP-SHOP

         From January 2 to 20, 2013 business owners from the lowly sari-sari store to big corporations flocked to the lobby of the City Hall Building for the annual Business One Stop Shop (BOSS). BOSS is an public service innovation introduced by the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo when he was still a Local Chief Executive in Naga. 

        This year the process of serving a business permit was streamlined to five steps, which are: (1)Serve business application at the Business Permit and License Office (BPLO), (2) Submit the business application with all the requirements at (BPLO) and seek for assesment of all fees and taxes, (3) Pay and serve the Fire Safety Inspection Certification/Clearance, (4) Pay all fees and taxes including arrears and seek the City Treasurer’s clearance/approval and lastly (5) Submit  all   documents    and    Official Receipts to (BPLO) and receive the Mayor’s Permit and Business Plates. The BOSS also includes the renewal of Tricycle Franchises in the city. 

        Representatives of each of the thirteen barangays have also set up shop at the lobby on the duration of the BOSS to fast track the process and ensure that the objectives of BOSS are met.   

          For 2013, the table below present a  much clear picture of the increase in business in the city for the (BOSS) period of January 2 to 2013.
