1st SCHOOL - BASED LEADERSHIP TRAINING SEMINAR



               Last February 6 - 8, 2015 the 1st School - Based Leadership Training Seminar with the theme: “Leadership Competencies Empowering Young Minds for a Better Tomorrow” at Trece Martires City National High School. The Guest Speaker Hon. Mayor Melandres G. De Sagun (represented by Mr. Christopher Galpa) introduced the aspects of    leadership and discussed the qualities of an effective leader. 

       The participants were club officers and class officers of all highschool levels (total of 586 student-leaders) and organized by SSG officers SY 2014-2015 and Social Studies Department. The Trainers from Ateneo De  Manila CODE (Consultant for Organization Development and Empowerment) headed by Paolo Syling Trece Group of trainers and Jerome Nathaniel Bello-External Relations Representative Ateneo-CODE and the facilitators are Ms. Amelita E. Diloy and senior SSG officers.  
           
          Twenty one (21) members of ATENEO CODE came for the second day of the training-seminar.  CODE came up with an interactive leadership training module  specifically designed for TMCNHS students to develop their leadership competencies. The module was the product of series of consultations with Amelita E. Diloy (SSG adviser and head of the LTS project)  and the focus group discussions with Supreme Student Government, club officers and club advisers.

           Topics discussed include introduction to leadership, forming / sharing vision, leading people, leading in context, and leading for results. 

        After the  training, the participants expressed their understanding of the essence of student-leadership. They were able to form vision for themselves as student leaders and future leaders in the community.
