50TH IGLESIA NI CRISTO

       The 2015 Iglesia ni Cristo leadership controversy is a dispute between senior members of the Christian denomination Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). In July 2015, it was reported that the INC has expelled some of its ministers, along with high-profile members Felix Nathaniel "Angel" and Cristina "Tenny" Manalo. Angel is the brother of current INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo and Tenny is the mother of Eduardo, and widow of former Executive Minister Eraño Manalo.

     Angel and Tenny were expelled from the INC for "sowing disunity" in the church. The INC administration released a statement claiming that Eduardo agreed to the expulsion of his brother and mother from the INC, as decided upon by its overall leadership. However, both Angel and Tenny claimed their lives were threatened by the Iglesia's administration. Angel and Tenny are reportedly being illegally detained at the Iglesia's Central Office Complex in Tandang Sora, Queson City and that at least ten ministers of the church are missing and alleged to have been abducted.

      Former INC ministers Roel Rosal and Isaias Samson, Jr., claim the Sanggunián (the highest administrative council of the INC) had unlawfully abducted and detained ministers, along with members of the Manalo family, in order to cover up corruption surrounding the Iglesia's chief auditor, Glicerio "Jun" Santos, Jr. On July 24, 2015, the Iglesia ni Cristo, represented by Glicerio B. Santos, IV, head counsel of the INC and son of Santos, Jr. filed a libel complaint against Samson.

2015 NATIONAL WOMEN'S MONTH

       Women make up almost half of the entire Philippine population but disparities in women and men’s representation in leadership levels still persist. While opportunities for women in politics and decision-making are opening up, many still hesitate to take on leadership positions due to their unpaid reproductive roles, conservative mindsets and beliefs that politics and leadership are not women’s world. This National Women’s Month, we enjoin all “Juanas” to stand and break through fear and self-doubt as fear is the root of so many barriers that women face - the fear of being not liked, the fear of making the wrong choice, the fear of drawing negative attention, the fear of being judged, the fear of failure and the fear of being a bad mother or wife or daughter.

        We hold ourselves back in ways both big and small, by lacking self-confidence, by not raising our hands, and by pulling back when we should be leaning in. Women should occupy fifty percent of the leadership. As women and men have different life experiences, they think differently and have different perspectives and priorities. Hence, both of them should be in all the different levels of leadership whether in civil society organizations, academe, bureaucracy or electoral politics. We, therefore, appeal to both government and social movements to join hands in enabling “Juana” to participate freely and openly.

        We need to equip women with knowledge and skills necessary to effectively involve themselves in governance. We should never get tired of providing equal opportunities for women and men and break the glass ceilings and walls. We are also calling “Juans” to support “Juanas” as they aspire to become leaders. Sharing of roles and responsibilities in the household fosters healthy partnership and relationship. We need more men who can stand for and promote women’s rights. Lastly, we want all “Juanas” to dream, to aspire and inspire. Let us learn how to define ourselves and not to be defined by others. A happy and meaningful Women’s Month to all “Juanas!”

DAYCARE GRADUATION DAY 2015

The Daycare Teachers, City Councilors: Hon. Rona Bago, Hon. Lamberto Lubigan, Hon. Koki Cunanan, Hon. Lito Villanueva, City Vice Mayor Alex Lubigan, CSWDO Officer Ms. Nora Delos Santos, & Mr. Josefino Vasquez.

      Last March 17-19, a sequence of commencement ceremonies was celebrated. 2, 237 daycare of Trece Martires Cavite were graduated in separate ceremonies. La Trinidad, San Agustin, Cabuco, Pasong Baka, Heritage Homes, Gregorio and Osorio Day Care Center held their graduation ceremony on March 17, 2015 at 7:30 am in Trece Martires City Elementary School. Later on the same day, Aguado, Sitio, Pag-asa, Southville II, GK Munting Paraiso, GK Sibol Southville II PH. 3, GK Pag-asa II Day Care Center held their graduation ceremony at Munting Paraiso, Aguado.

      On March 18, 2015 at 8:30 am, De Ocampo, West Plains, City Land Day Care Center held their graduation day at De Ocampo Covered Court. GK Meralco Sibol, Southville I, Bahay Bulilit, Sampaguita, Regina Ville 2000, Inocencio Day Care Center had their graduation ceremony on March 19, 2015 at 8:00 am in Inocencio Covered Court, Brgy. Inocencio TMC, Cavite.

      Hon. Melandres G. De Sagun was the guest speaker to all the graduation ceremonies mentioned. Preschool graduates celebrated their graduation with a fun and surely memorable experience. This may be marked as the last day in daycare but also the start of their journey towards the bigger and brighter future.

FIRE PREVENTION  MONTH 2015

        The highlight of this year's Fire Prevention Month is the conduct of Fire Olympics 1st Encounter which are held annually. Fire Olympics showcased the firefighting skills and capabilities of our industrial or commercial establishments' fire brigade. This was participated by five (5)  private establishments in the city namely: Puregold, Waltermart, MV Santiago Medical Center,NTPI and Purebev. They competed for three firefighting events. The overall champion is MV Santiago Medical Center who will  represent the city on the Provincial Level on April 10, 2015 at Univ. Perpetual Help Dalta at Molino 3 Bacoor City. The only downside of the event was no barangay participated.

     

      Trece Martires City Fire Station once again spearheaded this year's Fire Prevention Month. A motorcade was conducted with DILG and CDRRMO on March 02, 2015 after the traditional flag raising ceremony on the City Hall grounds, City Fire Marshal, SR INSP HAZEL OLGA L DELOS REYES gave a short talk on Fire Safety. This year's theme is "Kaligtasan sa Sunog: Alamin, Gawin at Isabuhay Natin!' Other activities includes conduct of fire drills, Barangay Ugnayan, Posting of Posters, giving of flyers and leaflets and conduct of Pre-Fire Planning Seminars on Barangays and industrial establishments.
