RABIES AWARENESS MONTH
The month of March was declared as Anti-rabies Month mandated by Republic Act of 9482 states that the dog registration every year is mandatory to all Local Government Units. During this month’s activities, the City Agriculture’s Office were vaccinating dogs and cats against rabies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases that cause virus that infect central nervous system causing 100% death. Rabies can be transferred to human beings if the saliva from infected dogs get into the open wounds of a person.
Another importance of Anti-rabies vaccination is to raise the awareness on the impact of human and animal rabies and ultimately to eliminate the disease. If you are ever bitten or scratched by a dog or cat proceed to the nearest animal bite treatment center in Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH) for a anti-rabies shot.
