117th DEATH ANNIVERSARY

The commemoration of the Death of the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite held annually by the Local Government of Trece Martires City every 12th of September is centered around this year’s theme “Mamamayan: Daan at Simbolo ng Kabayanihan”
This year marks the 117th Death Anniversary of the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite that spans two weeks starting August 30 with the Inter-school Re-enactment Competition. The September 12 program started with an employees fun walk at 6:00 am around the provincial capitol grounds followed by a thanksgiving mass at 7:00am celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Erick Orcullo, the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.
The formal program opened at 8:00am by the singing of the National Anthem, Himno ng Trece and Himno ng Cavite by the City Employee’s Choir. Trece Martires National High School—Cabezas Annex acted out the re-enactment of the martyr’s death which was followed by the a wreath laying ceremony led by Mayor Melan De Sagun, Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan and the Sangguniang Panlunsod, Barangay Officials, and Members of Masonic Lodge #350.
After the opening remarks from Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan, Mayor Melandres G. de Sagun gave his Inspirational Message highlighting that the achievements of the past paved the way for the present development and an exciting future.
Representing Governor Jonvic Remulla as the Guest of Honor, Mr. Alvin Mojica averred the continued support of the provincial government to the city though infrastructure projects that will benefit not just Trece Martires but the whole province as well. Awarding of cash prizes for the participants of the inter school re-enactment followed.
Our constant partner, Globe Telecom provided the tarpaulins for the Employees Fun Walk and provided a photo booth for the occasion.
